We were delighted to exhibit at the Westonbirt School Careers Convention, giving the students an overview of what a career in accountancy can look like.

It’s not just about numbers, accountants help to shape the businesses of the future!

We had a fantastic time at our Macmillan Cancer Support Coffee Morning! There were plenty of cakes to be had with our #bakeoff competition, and we even had a raffle. We appreciate all that #Macmillan does for people and enjoyed being able to fundraise for them.

I picked up the LINC collection pot on Thursday and I am pleased to let you know that there was £137.85 in it. On behalf of LINC may I say a very big thank to all who donated their loose change. Due to the current climate and increasing domestic costs we have received a great deal more requests for financial assistance from LINC patients during their long period of treatment. Thanks to the support of local businesses like McGills we can continue to offer this service.

We are delighted to be the main Sponsor of the Fairford Steam Show on 19^th & 20^th August. The show is run by volunteers from the local community, so come along and show your support for this much-loved country show.

We are pleased to announce the latest recipient of the McGills’ Community Fund is the Pop-Up Kitchen After School Cooking Club at Fairford Primary School. The £1,000 donation will help to fund the term-time sessions and will help to pay for kitchen utensils and equipment, enabling the youngsters to enjoy the full learning experience of cooking a meal from scratch.

The team from McGills joined in the festivities when Malmesbury arranged a late night Christmas shopping evening on 2^nd December. A fantastic time was had by everyone and it was great to see so many families, along with all the other brilliant stalls.

We were delighted to take part in the Cirencester Schools’ careers evening. It was great to speak to pupils interested in pursuing a future career in accounting.

A team of five McGills’ colleagues took part in the 5k Run the Rainbow charity event held at Cotswold Airport on 24 September, raising £360 for our official charity of the year, CHYP – Cirencester Housing for Young People.

The team at McGills have provided three budding future accountants with work experience opportunities by hosting pupils from Malmesbury School, Cirencester Kingshill School and Severn Vale School, in Quedgeley, Gloucester.

We were proud to sponsor the Apprentice of the Year category in the annual Cirencester Business & Community Awards, which was won by Thomas Back of Cirencester College. Congratulations also to McGills’ own apprentice, Isobel Webb, who was a runner-up.
