Sharla Dandy – BA(Hons) FCA CTA – Partner

Sharla was recently appointed partner at McGills and has over 25 years practice experience. As partner she is responsible for her own portfolio, undertaking annual client meetings as well as new client meetings. As a Chartered Accountant and Chartered Tax Adviser specialising in owner managed businesses, & having previously had one herself, Sharla understands the challenges faced by small businesses. Sharla is also staff partner and so undertakes staff interviews and appraisals.

Sharla trained as a Chartered Accountant in a top 10 firm, then moving to a small local practice.

Having gained an insight into how a small practice operated, she was inspired to then set up and ran her own practice from 2009 – 2019. At this time, she also qualified as a Chartered Tax Adviser and headed up the accounts department for a new tax practice in Cheltenham.

Sharla is a Xero Certified Advisor and was one of the first users of Xero when it launched in the UK in 2008. She has also used Sage products for more than 20 years.

She brings a wealth and variety of experience to the practice and has received academic and national industry awards. Her very personable approach gives a refreshing aspect and she is able to provide knowledgeable advice in accountancy as well as taxation.
