Cotswold accountants spread goodwill at Christmas

Cotswold-based McGills Chartered Accountants has been spreading goodwill in the run-up to Christmas with a series of festive initiatives, including a ‘reverse advent calendar’, a Christmas pudding sale, a Christmas Jumper Day, sponsoring a Christmas lunch and sponsoring some Christmas trees.

The firm, which has offices in Cirencester and Malmesbury, has been counting down to Christmas with a ‘reverse advent calendar’ on its social media channels.

In contrast to a conventional advent calendar, a ‘reverse advent calendar’ sees people make a donation for each of 12 days running up to Christmas.

The firm’s staff have made donations of items including toiletries and clothing to The Big Yellow Bus Project, which provides overnight accommodation to those in need in Cirencester.

Meanwhile, the firm sold Christmas puddings for Evie’s Gift, which provides support to parents to stay close to their children in hospital, and held a Christmas Jumper Day in aid of Save the Children.

The firm also sponsored the HEALS Malmesbury Christmas lunch on Friday 20 December for older people in the Malmesbury area, as well as sponsoring Christmas trees in Cirencester and Malmesbury.

Simon Nuttall, a Partner at McGills Chartered Accountants, said: “We are proud to be part of the local communities in Cirencester and Malmesbury and it is very important to us that we make a contribution.

“Our various initiatives will make a significant difference to a wide range of people this Christmas and I am grateful to our whole team for their efforts.”
