One of Malmesbury’s leading accountancy firms has helped celebrate a student’s entrepreneurial achievements by sponsoring a business award at a local school.
Deborah Morton, an Associate at McGills Chartered Accountants, visited Malmesbury School to present the Business Student of the Year Award to year 12 student, Emily Roberts.
Emily was presented with the award in recognition of her mature work ethic, diligence, contributions to class discussion and her success in a small business challenge. As part of the Apprentice-style challenge, organised with the support of a local businessman, Emily led a team of students running an Easter egg enterprise at the school.
Deborah Morton said: “I was delighted to be able to present Emily with the prize. She is a deserved winner and really stood out for her efforts in the small business challenge.”
Alison Palmer, a Partner at McGills, added: “Entrepreneurs are the backbone of our economy and every day we witness the immense contribution they make.
“Here at McGills we are keen to support the next generation of entrepreneurs and Emily has already shown great potential.”
Emily received a trophy and £75 worth of vouchers.
