A Malmesbury student’s entrepreneurial endeavours have been recognised after he was presented with a business award to mark his achievements.
Simon Nuttall, a Partner at McGills which sponsored the award, visited Malmesbury School to present the Business Student of the Year Award to year 12 student, Ross Thornton.
Ross was presented with a trophy and £75 worth of gift vouchers in recognition of his mature work ethic, willingness to show persistence, perseverance and determination to improve as well as taking on responsibility outside the classroom.
He led a team as part of the school’s annual Year 12 Business Challenge, which involves teams of students researching, writing and presenting a business plan to local businessman, Stuart Bernau, who has funded the project for the last seven years.
Simon Nuttall said: “At McGills we are fervent believers in teaching entrepreneurial skills in schools.
“It was a pleasure to visit the school to meet Ross and present him with his well-deserved award.
“We are always keen to support the next general of entrepreneurs and Ross has already shown his potential to start-up and run a successful business.”
