McGills welcomes new Partner Designate

We are delighted to announce the appointment of Helen Jones who joins McGills as our new Partner Designate.

Helen brings with her considerable experience in online accounting, as businesses across the Cotswolds prepare for the introduction of Making Tax Digital (MTD) for VAT, the first phase in a major project to digitise the UK’s tax system.

Helen is a member of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) and holds the FCCA accountancy qualification. She is also a certified advisor for both the Xero and Sage Business Cloud software packages.

Helen also has particular expertise in advising owner-managed businesses and land and property firms, as well as a strong background in general practice.

Prior to joining McGills Chartered Accountants, Helen spent nearly 20 years at another Gloucestershire-based practice, rising through the ranks to become a Director, as the firm merged with a Top 10 firm.

Helen has been recruited as part of the expansion of the firm to offer its personal level of service to more clients from across the region.

Helen said: “I am looking forward to engaging with businesses and helping them make the most of what online accounting can offer them.

“Rural businesses face particular challenges in complying with MTD and our experience will help them put measures in place to be ready for the change. I am delighted to have joined McGills.”

McGills Partner, Simon Nuttall, added: “We are delighted to welcome Helen to the team. I know our clients will value her expertise in relation to online accounting and preparing for the roll-out of MTD.

“As part of our firm’s continuing growth, we see Helen as playing a key role in our plans.”
