Alison Palmer FCA - Partner
I started my accountancy career with one of the larger firms in Old Town, Swindon. The work was very varied and gave me invaluable experience in audit, financial and management accounts for businesses of all shapes and sizes as well as all aspects of taxation.
I then became finance director for Blackwell Brothers who imported houseplants and sold them wholesale to all the major retailers in the UK. For over 9 years I managed the financial running of the business, designing and implementing all in house systems, and even helped packing houseplants at the peak trading times!
I joined McGills in 2002 as a Partner with Simon. My clients are from a variety of different backgrounds , including many from the agricultural and rural sectors, and I really enjoy meeting up with them to see how they are getting on. My expertise is in ensuring my clients are making the most of their money, saving tax where possible and using technology and systems to save themselves time.

Q: Who would you like to get stranded in a lift with and why?
A: Inca - my cat - she’s the only one who would be able to stop me losing my sanity if the doors wouldn’t open!
